Meet the examiner events in London & the South East

DVSA will be hosting a series of meet the examiner events at driving test centres in London and the South East as part of a trial over the coming months.
The sessions will give your pupils the opportunity to meet local driving examiners and learn more about the driving test.
Once the trial has been evaluated, we will update you on the next steps.
How these events will help your pupils
These sessions are designed to:
• reduce test anxiety by allowing your pupils to meet examiners beforehand
• provide an opportunity to ask questions about the test process
• help your pupils feel more confident on test day
• give clarity to your pupils on what to expect during their driving test
82% of those who came to a driving test centre open day in the past said it helped them feel more confident about their upcoming driving test.
What you need to do
Encourage your pupils to look out for invitation emails, particularly those with tests booked in the coming months.
Invitations will be sent automatically to your pupils with upcoming test bookings.
Event details
There will be multiple sessions per month across London and the South East, with each session lasting around 45 minutes.
If your pupils come to the open day, they will be able to:
• meet and talk with driving examiners
• learn more about the driving test and what driving examiners assess
• find out more information about our ‘Ready to Pass?’ campaign
• find out the top reasons why people do not pass their driving test
Please encourage your pupils to attend - especially if you think they’ll benefit from visiting the test centre and talking to driving examiners to help reduce their nerves and increase their confidence for their upcoming test.
